At present, the mainstream structures of battery packs are CTM, CTP, CTB, and CTC.
CTM (cell to module): CTM is to integrate the battery cell on the module, and then use the shell to encapsulate the module to form a battery pack.
CTP (cell to pack): directly integrate the battery cell inside the battery pack, eliminating the module link.
CTB (cell to body): the body itself has no bottom plate, and the upper cover of the battery is combined with the bottom plate of the body.
CTC (cell to chassis): the battery cell is directly installed on the one-piece stamped bottom plate.
CTM
It is the mainstream method at present.
Advantages: mature technology; convenient after-sales maintenance, the problem module can be replaced separately, and the entire battery pack does not need to be scrapped;
Disadvantages: low volume utilization rate in the battery pack. Because the battery pack sizes of various models are inconsistent, some may still be irregular, but the size of the battery cell is standard, and the module layout needs to be carefully considered.
CTP
The famous Kirin battery and blade battery are designed in this way. The advantage is that the battery pack has a high volume utilization rate, and the same space can hold more cells than CTM.
CTB
Battery-car body integration technology, the car body itself has no bottom plate, the battery cover and the car body bottom plate are combined into one, the power battery system also becomes a structural part, enhancing the rigidity of the car body.
Advantages: high volume utilization; improve the rigidity of the car body; because CTB technology has no bottom plate, the longitudinal space in the car is significantly improved, giving passengers a better riding experience
CTC
The battery cells are directly mounted on the integrally stamped bottom plate. Tesla is a typical example.The structure is very similar to CTB, and the advantages are similar. It further deepens the integration of the battery system with the electric vehicle power system and chassis, reduces the number of parts, saves space, and improves structural efficiency.
