On January 22nd, CATL launched the Tianxing II light commercial series power battery, aiming to provide customized solutions for all scenarios. This series of battery products includes light commercial low-temperature version, urban transportation scenario light commercial supercharging version, intercity mainline scenario light commercial long endurance version, terminal urban distribution&self provided scenario light commercial high-temperature supercharging version, and light commercial battery swapping version.
Among them, the light commercial low-temperature version is particularly eye-catching because it adopts the industry’s first mass-produced sodium battery technology.

CATL’s Chief Technology Officer Gao Huan stated that the Tianxing second-generation light commercial low-temperature version battery with a capacity of 45kWh can be matched with various car models such as small and micro cards.
The light commercial low-temperature version sodium battery can achieve plug and charge function even if the battery cells are completely frozen through under extreme low temperature conditions of minus 30 ℃. In more extreme environments of minus 40 ℃, the battery can still maintain 90% of its available power, demonstrating its excellent low-temperature performance. This technological breakthrough is of great significance for improving the applicability and reliability of new energy vehicles in cold regions, and also provides strong guarantees for the winter endurance of new energy vehicles.
In the near future, BOSA will also withdraw our first sodium battery product. Stay tuned!
