De batterijfabrikant is van plan om uiterlijk volgend jaar een proefproductielijn voor zijn lithium-ijzerfosfaatbatterijen op te zetten. De LFP-batterijcellen van LG zullen de vorm van een pouch hebben, in tegenstelling tot de prismatische of cilindrische cellen die de voorkeur genieten bij Chinese batterijfabrikanten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LG Energy Solution is van plan om samen met moederbedrijf LG Chem de benodigde materialen voor de LFP-batterijen te leveren. Het Koreaanse mediakanaal The Elec speculeert dat LG Chem een joint venture met een Chinese partner zal aangaan om de grondstoffen voor de LFP-batterijen van LG Energy Solution te verkrijgen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">TESLA LEIDT DE WEG NAAR LFP-CELLEN<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tesla is vorig jaar begonnen met het gebruik van LFP-batterijen van de Chinese batterijleverancier Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL). De LFP-batterijen van CATL waren bestemd voor de Model 3 Standard Range Plus van Giga Shanghai. Sindsdien gebruikt Tesla LFP-batterijen ook in de standaard in China geproduceerde Model 3 en de standaard in China geproduceerde Model Y.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In mei 2021 kondigde Tesla aan dat het LFP-batterijen zou gaan gebruiken in zijn Megapack-energieopslagsysteem. En vorige maand gaf Tesla Amerikaanse reserveringshouders de optie om een Model 3 SR+ te ontvangen die is uitgerust met een LFP-batterijpakket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Elon Musk legt Tesla&#039;s LFP-batterijstrategie voor de Amerikaanse Model 3 SR+ uit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LFP-BATTERIJMARKT<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De overstap van Tesla naar LFP-batterijen leek aanvankelijk een gok, maar die heeft zich ruimschoots uitbetaald. LG Energy Solution verzette zich in eerste instantie tegen de ontwikkeling van LFP-batterijen, omdat ijzerhoudende cellen een lagere energiedichtheid hebben, wat resulteert in een kortere actieradius per lading. LFP-batterijen zijn bovendien zwaarder dan hun nikkel-kobalt-mangaan (NCM) en nikkel-kobalt-aluminium (NCA) tegenhangers. De wijdverspreide toepassing van LFP-batterijen door fabrikanten van elektrische voertuigen lijkt het bedrijf echter van gedachten te hebben doen veranderen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tesla gebruikt LFP-batterijen alleen voor de basisvarianten van zijn voertuigen vanwege de beperktere actieradius die ze bieden. LFP-batterijen hebben echter ook voordelen. Zo zijn ijzerhoudende cellen goedkoper om te produceren en raken ze zelden oververhit of thermisch oververhit, iets wat LG Energy Solution wellicht zou willen onderzoeken gezien de recente problemen met de Chevy Bolt EV van GM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De ontwikkeling van LFP-batterijen zou op de lange termijn een goede zakelijke zet kunnen zijn voor LG Energy Solution. Naar verluidt zullen meer EV-startups, zoals Rivian en zelfs Apple, naar verluidt ook ijzerhoudende cellen in hun basismodellen gaan gebruiken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BOSA Energy is al meer dan 15 jaar een toonaangevende leverancier van LFP (LiFeP04)-batterijen en biedt de veiligste batterijoplossingen met bescherming tegen oververhitting en thermische runaway.
