Durante la descarga, estos iones de litio regresan del electrodo negativo al positivo. En este recorrido, fluyen electrones, generando corriente y alimentando el dispositivo. Todo el proceso es como un grupo de diligentes &quot;transportadores&quot; que van y vienen para transferir energ\u00eda, con el electrolito actuando como su &quot;canal de transporte&quot; y los electrodos como sus &quot;estaciones de transferencia&quot;.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En condiciones normales (temperatura ambiente de 20 a 25 \u00b0C), estos &quot;portadores&quot; est\u00e1n llenos de energ\u00eda y se mueven con fluidez, lo que permite que la bater\u00eda suministre energ\u00eda de forma estable. Sin embargo, cuando la temperatura desciende, especialmente por debajo de 0 \u00b0C, los &quot;portadores&quot; se ralentizan o incluso dejan de funcionar, lo cual es la principal causa de la degradaci\u00f3n de la bater\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.licdn.com\/dms\/image\/v2\/D5612AQEZosV1V4Sryw\/article-inline_image-shrink_1000_1488\/B56Z4_Za3ZGgAI-\/0\/1779180091116?e=1781136000&amp;v=beta&amp;t=-VSwVo0rjA9lhBL4QdwEsiAwHeUMuqVr7TZb2MnG-Jw\" alt=\"\u6587\u7ae0\u5185\u5bb9\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.5000146485805526;width:470px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Principios b\u00e1sicos: Tres desaf\u00edos de las bater\u00edas de iones de litio a bajas temperaturas<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Desaf\u00edo 1: Congelaci\u00f3n de electrolitos, bloqueo de los canales de transporte<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El electrolito es el &quot;canal de transporte&quot; de los iones de litio, equivalente a los &quot;vasos sangu\u00edneos&quot; de una bater\u00eda de litio. Su fluidez determina directamente la velocidad de migraci\u00f3n de estos iones. La viscosidad del electrolito aumenta bruscamente al disminuir la temperatura, al igual que el agua se espesa y se congela con el fr\u00edo. A bajas temperaturas, el electrolito se vuelve viscoso, llegando incluso a solidificarse parcialmente, lo que reduce significativamente la velocidad de conducci\u00f3n i\u00f3nica y, en algunos casos, puede &quot;bloquear&quot; completamente los canales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Es como si una carretera ancha y lisa se convirtiera de repente en un camino embarrado; los &quot;transportadores&quot; (iones de litio) tienen dificultades para moverse, su eficiencia se reduce considerablemente y la producci\u00f3n de energ\u00eda de la bater\u00eda disminuye naturalmente.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Desaf\u00edo 2: Los iones de litio se vuelven inactivos, lo que dificulta la entrada y salida de las estaciones de transferencia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Los electrodos positivo y negativo de una bater\u00eda de litio funcionan como &quot;estaciones de transferencia&quot; para los iones de litio. Durante la carga, los iones de litio deben insertarse en el electrodo negativo, y durante la descarga, deben extraerse de \u00e9l. Este proceso requiere superar una cierta &quot;resistencia&quot;, com\u00fanmente conocida como &quot;impedancia de transferencia de carga&quot;. Seg\u00fan la ecuaci\u00f3n de Arrhenius, cuanto menor sea la temperatura, menor ser\u00e1 la velocidad de reacci\u00f3n qu\u00edmica y menor la eficiencia de inserci\u00f3n y extracci\u00f3n de iones de litio, lo que resulta en un aumento significativo de la impedancia de transferencia de carga. En resumen, las bajas temperaturas hacen que los iones de litio se vuelvan &quot;perezosos&quot;; incluso si los canales no est\u00e1n completamente bloqueados, no est\u00e1n dispuestos a esforzarse para entrar o salir de la &quot;estaci\u00f3n de transferencia&quot;, lo que provoca que algunos iones de litio no puedan participar en la transferencia de energ\u00eda, reduciendo as\u00ed la capacidad de la bater\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Desaf\u00edo 3: La pel\u00edcula SEI se \u201cespesa\u201d y pueden crecer \u201cdendritas peligrosas\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Durante la primera carga de una bater\u00eda de litio, se forma una fina capa de interfase de electrolito s\u00f3lido (SEI) en la superficie del electrodo negativo. Esta capa act\u00faa como un escudo protector, impidiendo que el electrolito reaccione con el electrodo negativo y permitiendo el paso fluido de los iones de litio, lo cual es crucial para la vida \u00fatil de la bater\u00eda. Sin embargo, las bajas temperaturas pueden da\u00f1ar este escudo protector: por un lado, reducen la estabilidad de la capa SEI, provocando la rotura de algunos componentes y aumentando la resistencia al paso de los iones de litio; por otro lado, durante la carga a baja temperatura, la velocidad a la que los iones de litio se incrustan en el electrodo negativo no puede seguir el ritmo de la deposici\u00f3n, y el exceso de iones de litio precipita litio met\u00e1lico en la superficie del electrodo negativo, formando dendritas de litio. Simult\u00e1neamente, los productos de la reacci\u00f3n entre el litio y el electrolito se depositan en la capa SEI, engros\u00e1ndola y dificultando a\u00fan m\u00e1s el transporte de iones de litio. A\u00fan m\u00e1s peligroso es que las dendritas de litio seguir\u00e1n creciendo y, una vez que atraviesen la capa SEI y el separador de la bater\u00eda, provocar\u00e1n un cortocircuito directo entre los electrodos positivo y negativo, lo que causar\u00e1 sobrecalentamiento, hinchaz\u00f3n e incluso combusti\u00f3n o explosi\u00f3n de la bater\u00eda. Esta es la raz\u00f3n principal de los riesgos de seguridad de la carga a baja temperatura. Adem\u00e1s, el engrosamiento de la capa SEI es irreversible. No hay motivo para alarmarse. La degradaci\u00f3n de las bater\u00edas de litio causada por las bajas temperaturas se divide en dos categor\u00edas: degradaci\u00f3n reversible e irreversible, que son significativamente diferentes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La degradaci\u00f3n reversible es el tipo m\u00e1s com\u00fan, causada principalmente por las bajas temperaturas que aumentan la viscosidad del electrolito, ralentizan la migraci\u00f3n de iones de litio y aumentan la resistencia a la transferencia de carga. Este tipo de degradaci\u00f3n es como una &quot;hibernaci\u00f3n&quot;; simplemente trasladar la bater\u00eda a temperatura ambiente (20-25 \u00b0C) y dejarla reposar durante un tiempo permite que el electrolito recupere su fluidez, los iones de litio su actividad y la capacidad y el rendimiento de la bater\u00eda vuelvan pr\u00e1cticamente a la normalidad, sin afectar su vida \u00fatil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Por otro lado, la degradaci\u00f3n irreversible se debe principalmente a ciclos prolongados de carga y descarga a bajas temperaturas, lo que provoca un engrosamiento excesivo de la capa SEI, el crecimiento de dendritas de litio o la descomposici\u00f3n irreversible del electrolito. Este tipo de degradaci\u00f3n es permanente, como si la bater\u00eda estuviera da\u00f1ada.
